Individual Counseling

All of us have something that we need to work on to feel better, function better, and live happier, more fulfilling lives. The beauty of being human lies in our complexity, our unique sets of strengths, and skills, as well as areas that need polishing. Most of us have had some experiences in our lives that have affected us negatively or have left a scar that has never healed. When we ignore our personal and emotional needs for too long, clinical symptoms might develop, as well as maladaptive behaviors and coping strategies. Those in turn affect our day-to-day functioning and overall life satisfaction. Enrolling in therapy helps to increase self-awareness, understand other people better, process hurts that still exist in our minds and bodies, and decrease troublesome symptoms that affect daily functioning. Most importantly, therapy helps you to get a chance at becoming the best version of yourself.
Seeing a therapist is an expression of strength and courage. Strength to persevere when things are not feeling right or going well in your life and to seek positive change. Courage to be vulnerable, to obtain help, and explore and process your emotions, thoughts, and experiences. You go to see a medical doctor when something doesn’t feel right in your body or when you are sick/hurting; you see a dentist to take care of your teeth. Why should your mental health be any less important? It is not. It is time to take care of yourself from the inside out so that you could become the best version of yourself, and live a healthier, happier life.
